Baro is irrelevant for terrain anyway. It's not as if the ground changes position based upon the air pressure!

We currently have no plans to make use of the barometric sensor. Since there's no connection to the static line of the aircraft any reading would be wildly inaccurate, and would fluctuate severely if somebody so much as opened a window.

Hi Tim,

Just a note to say that the new Mountain View mode of relative terrain is an exceptional safety feature that will save a life or two over time. Well done to you & your team to what looks like a good implementation.

Another member suggested some TAWS alerts which I back strongly (however, optional for strict VFR pilots). Maybe a use for the new barometric sensor in the iPhones/iPads.
